What i have and have done: 1) i have a hard modded xbox (don't ask me what chip, someone modded this thing like over 10 years ago) with EvoX and UnleashX dashboard on it. So i tried out myself but i didn't suceed yet. Hey guys, i recently discovered some youtube videos where people showed how to upgrade the original xbox's hdd to a bigger one without any problems by using chimp. This guy has some videos I found very easy to follow. I guess most of this info is useless if you're just trying to access the extra 2gb on the seagate drives. Finally go into your settings in the dashboard and there should be an option to look for the g partition. I max out the f partition to 256gb then I put the rest on the g partition. Jump forward past the softmod, and now I want to clone my hard drive I clone and lock the hard drive then I go down to partition my slave drive. My hard drive was going to be bigger than 256gb so I went with the nkpatcher.67. Either you setup with the nkpatcher.06 or.67. Depending on how you selected to softmod your Xbox there are two ways to do your partition. I upgraded the ide ribbon from a 40 conductor to an 80 conductor (also known as ultra ide 133). I had some issues, and even a short lived success. I've upgraded a few Xbox with only the softmod. Does anyone of you have an idea how i could fix this? I believe those options should be in chimp. According to the videos i've seen so far, there should pop up another menu in which i can choose how the hdd should be formatted. 5) when i finally hit 'yes' on when he asks me, wether the new hdd can be formatted ->nothing happens. Then i hit 'clone from master to slave', again it shows both devices. It recognizes both HDDs when i scan for them. After booting i changed the IDE cable from the DVD drive to my new hdd.Ĥ) started chimp. 2) i've set the jumper on the original hdd to master, the jumper for my new hdd (80gb) to slave. Hey here is a nice little program in case anyone needs to clone their original xbox hard drive or replace.
